Our chairman for 2009, Eduardo López de Casas, welcomes you to our website for the REPUBLICAN NATIONAL HISPANIC ASSEMBLY of Harris County.
RNHA INITIATIVES:
As corollary to our mission, RNHA Harris County has a number of interests regarding the promotion of Hispanics in our American society and the defense of same.
SCHOLORSHIP: We seek to promote Hispanics through the support of education with scholarship and through improved educational opportunities through direct consultation with educational leaders and government and by always advocating the Hispanic perspective. Our scholarship programs need participation by both the community and business leaders.
HISPANIC PROMOTION: We have worked to defend Hispanics by constantly advocating the Hispanic perspective to candidates, elected officials and to the public at large. For example, we fought tirelessly and continuously to ensure that the harsh and ill conceived anti immigration rhetoric that swirled about during these past few years would not "take root" and we proudly claim success as no "Anti Immigration" candidate from county judge up to the Presidency has succeeded. We are proud of our success, but there is much more work to be done and we need your help!
We meet monthly and attend functions related to our mission. We welcome all republican candidates to speak at our meetings so as to further their cause and further the principals of the Republican Party. Please attend our next meeting. July 29, 2009.
If you would like to join RNHA Harris County, please contact our chairman by clicking above or by contacting our membership director.
The mission of the RNHA is to build a membership organization to foster the principles of the Republican Party in the Hispanic community; to provide Hispanic Americans with a forum to play an influential role in local, state, and national Party activities; to increase the number of Hispanic Republicans elected officials; and to create and maintain a network of Hispanic Republican leaders.
RNHA Harris County is based in Houston, Texas and represents Republican Hispanics in the same county, Harris County, the fourth most populous county in America. A member of our chapter, Regino “Reggie” Gonzáles, is also the chairman of RNHA Texas, an even more prestigious organization as it represents Republican Hispanics in the third most populous state in the Union and the state with the second largest population of Hispanics in America according the The Pew Hispanic Center.
We believe that Hispanics, culturally and historically, have a set of values most clearly represented in the Republican party and we wish to foster those values and ideals by recruitment of like minded individuals and by continuously and tirelessly advocating the Hispanic perspective regarding present and future issues with those guiding principals firmly in mind.
